The first ranking of all operating systems in 2026, compiled on the Linuxiarze.pl portal, presents the most popular operating systems from the following families: Linux, BSD, Solaris, DOS, AROS, MikeOS, UNIX, TempleOS, Android, and others, which are or were developed independently or are based on other existing projects.
As always, I took into account the page views of the distribution/systems, download pages, and system installation pages.
The selection of the top ten of 2025, which you paid more attention to than other systems, should not be surprising. I was not surprised by the lack of systems other than those based on the Linux kernel in the top ten, but the second and third ten showed that Linux distributions were the most popular in 2025.
