The list takes into account the views of the distribution pages, downloads and comments. The list also includes systems that are not being developed but are still of interest to our readers.
1. Zorin OS Education
Zorin is a distribution built on Ubuntu and aimed at beginner Linux users. The graphical interface is similar in appearance to MS Windows 2000, XP, 7 or Mac OSX (to choose from). Zorin OS Educational is an edition built on Zorin OS Core intended for schools with the GNOME desktop. Zorin OS Eductional Lite is an edition built on Zorin OS Core intended for schools with the LXDE desktop.

2. openSUSE
openSUSE is an easy-to-use Linux distribution for PCs, laptops and servers. The openSUSE project is sponsored by Novell and was spun off from the SUSE system as its open, community version in 2005 (SUSE since 1994). Education Li-f-e is a set of programs for students, teachers, parents and IT administrators of educational institutions.

Edubuntu is an official derivative of Ubuntu intended for students and teachers. It contains a number of utility and educational programs. Developed since 2005.

4. ALT Linux Education
ALT Linux is a GNU/Linux distribution launched in 2001 based on Mandrake Linux packages. ALT Linux offers a set of several versions of the system with different applications, which are aimed at different recipients. The Education edition is aimed at the school sector.

5. DoudouLinux
DoudouLinux is a live Linux distribution aimed at children aged 2 to 12. It allows you to get to know the computer and learn through play. All data on the computer is protected against destruction – partitions are mounted read-only.

Linux-EduCD is a Polish Live distribution aimed at schools. Initially, the system releases were built on Knoppix and Ubuntu. Since version 0.9, the system is based on PCLinuxOS MiniMe and Mandriva.

Skolelinux aka DebianEdu is a specially prepared Linux distribution aimed at schools and universities. The system is built entirely on Debian from the stable branch, which contains about 75 applications typically educational and 15 enabling network configuration in school environments.

10. Free_Desktop
Free_Desktop is a specialized, educationally focused Linux distribution aimed at computer labs in schools. Free_Desktop is based on Linux Mint and is equipped with the Cinnamon desktop and a set of open-source applications.
